WE in the Mountains at the historic Hindman Settlement School - Hindman, Kentucky
Join us for a reawakening. In the rural Appalachian mountains, the campus of the historic Hindman Settlement School (established in 1902 as the first rural settlement school in America) will be home base for our 4 days and 3 nights of retreat. Here we will drop the curated display of life that is often the experience of our very plugged in world, to just be. Be with ourselves, our bodies, and the raw beauty of the earth which sustains us.
The mountains of eastern Kentucky offer a sacred, ancient and beautiful landscape in which to explore a coming home to our bodies and the authenticity we wish to express in our lives. Hindman, Kentucky (population 655) is a friendly town off the beaten path, providing both quietude and the opportunity for genuine connections. |
During our retreat, you will have multiple opportunities for daily yoga which will encourage you to reconnect to your body in order to reawaken yourself to its capabilities and its capacity for both strength and peace. Other add on activities can include:
- hike to Bad Branch Falls in Letcher County, Kentucky (included with retreat cost)
- Trip to Portal 31 (Harlan County, Kentucky) where you will experience part of the daily lives of underground coalminers and the role they played in the building of America (cost of ticket)
